A Message to Prospective Members for the 2007- 2008 Season

Thank you for looking into the DelMar Waterfowl club. Yes, we have something very special. We had some great seasons in the past and look forward to many more. The club has several different memberships for the upcoming season, We are always making slight changes to the club for the upcoming season to make it even better.

Before contacting me, please read the intro pages and the other publicly available portions of the site. If you are still interested, self-register on the discussion forums were you can get a feel for the membership and the club concept. Portions of the chat forum are open to the public, but I have found a review of the site to be beneficial for prospective members. There are many parts to the club and it is very difficult to give a complete overview of the organization on one telephone call. After you have a good feel for the club, I encourage all prospective members to call or e-mail with questions. I am available to provide tours of the properties and the clubhouse all year and typically do them in the off-season on Saturdays. I am always willing to discuss the club with anyone.

We have simple and open finances in the club. The membership splits the costs of the leases and hunting related expenses. Thus, the size of the membership is dictated by the number of leases. We have experienced virtually no turnover in the membership, but we typically have availabilities. We add several new properties each year, so there should be multiple openings for new members. The membership numbers are never set until the season begins, since new properties are added and additional blinds are built, right up until the hunting season begins.

Once approved; complete the membership application (available on the site under forms) to be placed on our waiting list, or directly in the club if a space is available. After that deposits are due in the Spring and final payments are due before the season starts. At various times during the season, we may have openings so it never hurts to check. I will need to interview each prospective member (in person) before extending an invitation and this is done before the season starts.

The current membership ranges in experience and geography. We really appeal to those not located on the Eastern Shore since quality lodging is available and the hunting schedule permits unlimited access to all properties with a reservation system that is done in advance. The strength of this club is in the quality of its membership, the properties and the equipment. We have a very safe, respectable group of members who are always willing to assist the new members upon joining DelMar. I look forward to speaking with anyone that shares my interest in hunting.

All the best,
