There is nothing better than kicking back after a long hunt and sharing stories of the day’s hunt with friends. After a cold day in the field or out on the marsh, we value the convenience of the lodge located on the largest group of farms leased for hunting. The lodge is available year-round to members at no charge. Guests are welcome for a minimal fee.
The lodge is a great blend of vintage charm and modern amenities. The three-story, 2800 ft² brick house was originally constructed in 1820 and has been updated with all modern improvements. In the last year, all the plumbing, heat and electrical systems have been replaced. Newer appliances and updated finishes have been added to complete the total renovations while leaving the quirks associated with an old home.
The lodge is great for our members that live far from the hunting properties. There is very little good hunting west of us and the lodge gives these members a chance to hunt the Eastern Shore.
Lastly, the lodge makes DelMar unique. We are not just a group the splits the cost of our leases. The loge gives us special opportunities to meet the other members and has created a more cohesive group.
The DelMar Hunting lodge is located on Route 8 (North Little Creek Road) off of State Route 1 in Dover Delaware. The Lodge is located on a 330 acre farm at the Northeast corner of these two primary roadways. The location provides easy access, yet is still considered very rural. Route 1 is a limited access toll road that transverse the entire state.
The three
story brick farmhouse features a full eat in kitchen, dining room, living room,
study, laundry room and a half bath on the first floor. There are two large
bedrooms and a full bath on the second floor. The east bedroom has two twin beds
and is referred to as the hen room. The west bedroom has two full sized beds
are called the drake room. The third floor has two bunkrooms with five beds.
Welcome to the DelMar. Parking is available behind the house.
Enter the lodge through the laundry room. We have a full-sized washer and dryer in the laundry. There are several boot dryer and a wader rack to store your boots. There is a bathroom with a wash sink on the right. Additional paper products are stored in this room.
The large kitchen seems to be the center of activity early in the morning. Have a game dinner or a quick breakfast before a morning hunt. The kitchen has a large refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, electric grill, toaster and an outdoor grill for all of your needs. We have recently upgraded the coffee maker to a larger model for busy mornings and thermos bottle refills while keeping the small maker for a fast few cups. Dishes, pots, cooking utensils, pans, glasses and silverware are kept in the large cabinets.
The poker room is one of our favorites. Everything is there for a Texas hold em’ tournament or a game of gin. It is decorated with vintage hunting memorabilia, local antiques and a large shell box collection.
The living room features comfortable seating for six. The sofa converts to a queen sized bed. The living room has a 27 inch TV, DVD and VCR players along with a full stereo system. We have a good selection of movies and satellite TV. Our rooms are decorated with waterfowl prints and working decoys from world famous carvers.
The downstairs bedroom features a queen sized has an extra sofa if you want to squeeze in an extra person. There are new digital alarm clocks in all of the bedrooms. The furniture and finishes are top quality
Upstairs has two bedrooms and a full bath. No bunk beds here, both of these rooms have two beds with brand new firm mattresses.

Property Access
We prefer the front gate to be kept locked when off the lodge property. The landowner requires access to the property for farming. Therefore, we must use a double lock for the front gate. Lock the club lock to the other lock, so that either key can be used to access the farm road.
Members and
guest are expected to put everything away and straighten up the lodge each day.
The cleaning service comes every Friday or nightly, if guests are occupying the
lodge.
Lodge Rules
• No smoking in the house. This is tough for me to write, but we smokers are becoming a minority.
• No women overnight except club
members, their family, or invited guests.
• Choice of rooms for the members is first come, first serve. Each member should
reserve an overnight spot on the web-site. No type of reservation is needed, if
you just plan on stopping by before or after a hunt.
• Upon entering and exiting lock the gate. Lock the doors and windows in the
clubhouse after you leave. Turn off the lights and check the stove. The heat
should be kept at 66 degrees. This is our best protection.
• Food left in the shop is community property. If you want to save something for
yourself, keep it in the refrigerator in the kitchen.
• No dogs are permitted on the second and third floors. They should be kept in
the kennels overnight.
If you suspect someone is on the property that should not be there, call 911 and give them the address and the Dover City Police will respond. If someone is hunting that is not a member call operation game theft at 1-800-292-3030.
